Keith Watts is a partner in the Orange County office of Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP and practices exclusively labor and employment law. His practice involves advising employers on strategies for remaining union-free, as well as successfully representing employers in union organizing campaigns and collective bargaining. In addition, Keith has handled a wide variety of matters in labor and employment law, including sexual harassment and wrongful termination claims, severance and release agreements, many forms of discrimination actions, and state court strike injunction litigation. Keith also represents employers in agency proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, including union representation and unfair labor practice cases, as well as defending employers before the EEOC and various other federal and state government agencies.
Keith’s employment law practice also focuses heavily on the "prevention side" of employment claims and positioning problems employment situations for the best possible defense. Keith regularly advises employers regarding effective methods to avoid employment related claims, including employment agreements, policies and procedures, training managers on "best practices," and offering day-to-day advice to employers regarding a myriad of employment and wage/hour issues.
Keith also has extensive experience handling claims before the California DFEH, DLSE, and Nevada NERC and is a frequent lecturer to various business and employer groups around the country on labor and employment issues. He has conducted scores of workshops and seminars and spoken to numerous national conventions and groups. Keith represents or works with employers in a wide-range of industries, including everything from automobile dealerships, aerospace and alarm companies to physician groups and transportation firms.
Prior to attending law school, Keith worked as an actor in New York and Los Angeles.
