Orange, Calif. – The U.S. Small Business Administration will participate in Small Business Day in the City of Orange on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 100 City Drive. The event is presented by the Asian Business Association of Orange County.
Small Business Day will offer 12 exciting and informative no-cost workshops for small businesses of all stages under one roof in a half-day setting. Attendees will be able to obtain valuable information from workshops centered on starting a business, expanding an existing business, and doing business with the government. SBA District Director J. Adalberto Quijada says, "An event like this is important to the community because it serves to reach people at a grassroots level and inform them of the resources available to start and grow their businesses."
The event will be perfect preparation for the upcoming ProCon procurement conference organized by the ABAOC. At ProCon, attendees will be able to meet and network with procurement vendors from various organizations and locations. Kim Zastrow, Co-Chair of the event and an ABAOC board member, stated "this is the first time ABAOC has presented a Small Business Day and our goal is to empower the community and educate individuals about how much opportunity exists as a business owner."
Partner organizations for the event include the: Orange County Chinese-American Chamber of Commerce, Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, Asian American Business Women Association, and the Orange County Business Service Center.

The date of the event coincides with the celebration of National Small Business Week, taking place April 21-25, with festivities occurring across the country and in Washington D.C.
